Normalization of ties with Zionist regime betrayal of Palestinian cause

TEHRAN, Aug. 01 (MNA) – Parliament's General Director for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, pointing to the efforts of some Arabs to normalize relations with the Zionist regime, said the move is betrayal of the Palestinian cause.

Amir-Abdollahian, who is also Palestine Intifada Conference Secretary General, made the remarks in a meeting with Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement Ramadan Abdullah in Beirut on Tuesday.

He said the al-Aqsa Mosque incident and the killing of the oppressed Palestinians has turned into a new Intifada that led to the scare and withdrawal of the Zionist regime's troops.

“The incident once again attracted attention to the al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque, proving that the political and religious issues of the mosque are alive to the public opinion of the Islamic world,” Amir-Abdollahian noted.

The Zionist regime today needs to normalize relations with Arab countries, and unfortunately some Arab leaders who claim to support Palestine, are fooled and this is betrayal of the aspirations of the Palestinian people, he underlined.

Ramadan Abdullah, for his part, while appreciating the support of the Islamic Republic of the Palestinians, stated that the recent Zionist crimes in the al-Aqsa Mosque has caused the outbreak of anger and a new intifada against Tel Aviv.

“Resistance will continue to fight for the return of refugees and form a united Palestinian state,” he noted.

Abdullah reiterated that the special attention of Imam Khamenei to keep alive the issue of Quds is spiritual and promising; we consider resistance as the best way to realize Palestinian cause, he noted.
